Holidays? Sea-Tac

I just read this story. I remember the big flap last year.

I only have one question. What holidays are the port of Seattle intending to honor with this display of birch trees? Kwanza? Channuka? Christmas? Winter Solstice? As far as I know none of those holidays use icey birch trees as a symbol of their holiday.

This is a continued attempt by spineless bureaucrats to deny American culture.

First, they make a big deal out of "not offending" anyone by removing Christmas decor. Then they tut tut those who complain about accomodating the decor of other religious observances. Finally, they bring out decor that has no religious meaning whatsoever, and proclaim that they are religious-themed.

BTW, the answer to your question is probably Wicca. Or some as yet unpublicized Watermelon (Green on the outside, Red on the inside) celebration.
